Air India’s Longest Flight to use the Boeing 777-200 (LR). Flights from Bengaluru to San Francisco to start in January.
New Flight to San Fransico from Bangalore.
The Airline on Wednesday opened bookings for first non-stop flight between Bengaluru and the US. BIAL described this as significant milestone. Passengers will soon be able to fliy directly between Bengaluru and San Francisco starting January 9th, 2021.
A 16 hour flight, the Route will be the longest to and from India. Air India plans to deploy it’s Boeing 777-200 (LR) on the 14,000 kilometer route, the longest for the airline. Passengers should see this as a welcome move since it eliminates transit times for those flying to the US.
This would be the first non-stop flight between Bengaluru and the United States, connecting the world, two tech hubs – the original Silicon Valley and the Silicon Valley of India,
Bengaluru International Airport Limited(BIAL) said in a statement on Wednesday.
Two non-stop flights should make an interesting play on air fares with with American Airlines also announcing flights from Seattle that it uses as a connecting hub to Bangalore. For travellers choice is always a good thing. Star Alliance members will benefit from these routes.
New Flight to San Fransico from Hyderabad.
The Airline also announced a direct flight from Hyderabad to Chicago starting January 13th 2021.
In another announcement Air India also opened bookings for a direct flight from Hyderabad to Chicago’s O’Hare Intl Airport. This is the second non-stop route from South India to the US. Unlike the AI 175/176 that will be bi-weekly, this flight will operate once a week.
